- Injection - to add or insert a substance into another.
- Mitigation - actions taken to avoid, reduce, or make-up for the effects of human-induced environmental damage.
- Recharge - to return water into the ground either via percolation or injection.
- Recharge Capacity - the amount of water that can be percolated or injected into the ground without negatively impacting the surrounding area.
- Recharge Mound - elevated groundwater levels resulting from recharge activities; this situation physically resembles a mound centered on the recharge source.
- Reservoir - a place where water is stored until it is needed.
- Seawater Intrusion - the movement of seawater inland into fresh groundwater aquifers; typicall occurs as a result of low groundwater levels.
