Because water is essential to our needs, the Water Distribution Program provides round-the-clock emergency response. In fact, this is an area we consider to be very important and we take great pride in providing our customers round-the-clock service. All calls received after normal working hours, weekends, and holidays are addressed by one of our representatives.

The most common types of calls we respond to are turn-off calls. When a customer’s water line ruptures and they are unaware of how to turn their water off, customers call our emergency number and a representative is dispatched to assist them in shutting their water off. Followed by emergency turn-offs, calls associated with automobile accidents and hydrants or other water appurtenances have been damaged, are the second most frequent types of calls we respond to. If you witness or suspect that water lines have ruptured, we encourage you to contact our emergency number at any time. Water line ruptures can cause thousands of dollars in damage to streets and other property. Catching water line ruptures in their early stages, helps to contain damages to a minimum.

In the event of a water emergency at your residence, we encourage you call our emergency number so we can provide you with instructions or information on shutting your water off. Following this process may help minimize damages caused by water line ruptures to your property. The number to call for any water emergencies is: (805) 385-8136.
