GREAT Program Notice of Preparation

In December, the State of California issued a Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the City of Oxnard GREAT Program draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR). Recently, the final comment filing period expired for the NOP, which allows the City to commence an Environmental review and documentation effort with a plan to have a certified National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) document developed by late Summer 2003. GREAT Program Advanced Planning Study Available

The City of Oxnard Water Division has received the Groundwater Recovery Enhancement And Treatment Program Advanced Planning Study developed by Kennedy/Jenks Consultants. On the basis of this study, the GREAT Program is recommended as the preferred choice to meet the City�s future water needs. It is cost-effective, environmentally sensitive, and develops local water resources. It offers the opportunity for partnering with other water purveyors to provide for a regional solution to Ventura County�s growing water needs.

Meetings

GREAT Team Meetings

GREAT Team members are encouraged to participate in meetings scheduled for the first and third Mondays of each month. The first Monday meetings are actual sitdown meetings held at the City of Oxnard City Manager's office, 300 W. Third Street, 4th Floor, at approximately 12:00 noon. The third Monday meetings are conference calls held at approximately 1:30 p.m. However, because of the number and location of consultants, GREAT Team members not able to attend may conference in for the first Monday meetings. Meeting agendas and minutes are provided to each GREAT Team member prior to and after each meeting, respectively.

City Council Meetings

If you would like to attend any of our regulary scheduled City Council meetings, they are held on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 305 W. Third Street in Oxnard. Contact the City Clerk's Office for more details at (805) 385-8200.
