Thank you for visiting the City of Oxnard Water Resources Division website. You are invited to explore our web pages, as well as our links to other resources, in order to gain a better understanding of our many services and the capital improvements planned in the years ahead.
In order to maintain a safe and dependable water supply, we sometimes need to make improvements that will benefit all of our customers. These infrastructure improvements sometimes cause temporary interruptions of both service and quality. We apologize for these inconveniences if and when they occur.
The City of Oxnard Water Resources Division has recently received the Groundwater Recovery Enhancement And Treatment Program Advanced Planning Study developed by Kennedy/Jenks Consultants. On the basis of this study, the GREAT Program is recommended as the preferred choice to meet the City’s future water needs. It is cost- effective, environmentally sensitive, and develops local water resources. It offers the opportunity for partnering with other water purveyors to provide for a regional solution to Ventura County’s growing water needs.
As the largest city in Ventura County, Oxnard has experienced its share of development growth spurts and slow periods. In planning for its future needs, the City is assessing its current water infrastructure system for deficiencies to address future demand. The Water System Master Plan is a comprehensive review of the existing and projected supplies and demands for the City of Oxnard and includes recommendations for capital and operational improvements that will be necessary to serve the our needs to the year 2020.
Included on this website is this year’s Consumer Confidence Report. This report is designed to inform you about the quality of water and services we deliver to you every day. We test our drinking water for many different contaminants and are pleased to report that it meets all State and Federal primary drinking water standards.
The Water Resources Division is also pleased to announce the winners of this years Student Outreach Contest. Congratulations to Foster Zellers, a kindergartener at McAuliffe Elementary School, for coming up with the winning slogan: Dont waste a drop! Turn the nozzle to stop! And finally, congratulations to Kathrina Magno, a fifth grader at Our Lady of Guadalupe Elementary School, who was selected for Best Drawing. Thank you to the many students that participated in the contest and to their teachers that assisted them.
Finally, the Water Resources Division is pleased to present our new quarterly departmental newsletter, CityWORKS. It is not only mailed to all households in our service area, but now online beginning with our latest issue. CityWORKS highlights the events, programs, community outreach activities and services provided by the City of Oxnard Public Works Department.
Our constant goal is to provide you, our customer, with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water. We want you to understand the effort we make to continually protect our water resources, which are essential to all life: past, present and future.
